Foundry launches Modo 11.0
Foundry designs creative software technologies to deliver incredible visual effects and 3D content for the design and visualization. It has been working on software which advances the art and technology of visual experience in partnership with creative leaders across the globe. One of the products by Foundry is Modo which provides the user with powerful and flexible 3D modelling, texturing and rendering toolset that inspires artists to explore and develop ideas.
Recently Foundry introduced Modo 11 series which delivers value in several areas across three installments with enhanced modelling workflows, accelerated performance and improved productivity. It is expected to offer more robust, reliable environment and accessibility to out-of-the-box experience along with the subscription. It has extended its interoperability of Modo with other application in its ecosystem and delivers accelerated performance across a number of key areas: support for OpenSubdiv 3 that delivers faster deformations, animation caching to speed up display, localized evaluation for MeshFusion improves interactivity and instances are drawn faster. MeshFusion feature includes the ability to cut, copy and paste Fusion items; enhancements to Auto-Retopology including a new Adaptive mode and Curvature metric along with a number of improvements to procedural modelling workflows. Through streamlined installation experience and login-based licensing, a new render setting presets that makes it easier to create high-quality, noise-free renderings without specialist expertise and an emphasis on fixing known issues. Other improvements include easier access to projects, training videos and online help and the ability to run Modo in safe mode for debugging purposes.
New release of Modo is a solid update but lies somewhere between a major and minor update because of which it is expected to get mixed response from Modo community. Although as per product website two new version of Modo 11.x is expected this year which would further widen the scope of Modo series.
