Unity announced that it was working with Google to integrate its new released Augmented reality toolkit ARCore into unity engine. Now, unity has announced that Unity will support Apple’s ARKit and iOS 11. This means that developers can use Unity engine to develop apps and games for both Android and iOS.

Unity has been working continuously to include several new features from iOS 11 and ARKit. Unity engine is one of the most popular in the world and is the driving force behind the majority of mobile virtual reality apps or games available currently.

Since Apple has announced iOS 11 and ARKit, many developers are keen on taking advantage of the opportunity as there is a large number of iOS users in the world. Ralph Hauwert (Director of Development for Platforms at Unity) said that they believe that if VR has to become a success then we will have to encourage a number of developers to develop apps and games for the platform. He said, “The launch of iOS 11 and ARKit will encourage more developers to create and enjoy engaging, accessible AR experiences. He also said that supporting the latest tech ensures we could give our creators the tools to build and scale apps and games and publish across nearly any platform.

With the continuous addition to new features in Unity, it has already shown the world that how serious it is for augmented reality.
